I was so engrossed with the new theme yesterday that I forgot to start my series of posts! I don’t think I can do a history/woman a day, but I’ll do it when I have time/remember. For the first one, I’m going to choose someone I’ve never heard of: Ray Simons. Yes, she’s a woman. Or rather, she was. Simons was born in what is now Latvia and moved on to South Africa. She was involved in the Communist Party and was a strong fighter for gender and racial equality. She died in 2004. I love learning about women who played important roles in the history of any country.
