The Festival of Regrets

When I was in college, I was able to catch the “Central Park” opera trilogy on PBS. One of my favorites was the libretto by Wendy Wasserstein for “The Festival of Regrets”. (see more here and here). Wasserstein is best known for her play The Heidi Chronicles and for her screenplay for The Object of My Affection. Her works deal with feminist issues: work and motherhood, marriage v. singlehood, etc.

I was sad to read this morning that she died today of cancer. What a loss for us all.
