and her name was Veronica

I finally got a copy of Mary Gaitskill’s Veronica from the library and am in the midst of it. The writing is so gorgeous, even when she’s writing about some raunchy activities. If I took a highlighter to every beautiful sentence, the book would shine. It’s that good. But it is taking me a much longer time to read because I can’t skim it. If I skim like I normally do, I’ll miss something important.

  1. For a second there I thought you were literally going to take a highlighter to a book you got from the library. I was all set to report you to the library authorities!
