“Only the sky and the green grass goes on forever, and today is a good day to die.”

As Mel and I were sitting on the couch, preparing to go see the Greencards at the Shady Grove, Dallas was executed. It’s all very strange . . .

I am undecided on the death penalty. Part of me is against it because of that old “killing people who kill people is wrong” thing, but then, I’ve never had a relative murdered. I want to be against the death penalty completely, but a small part of me still thinks we should have it.

It always amazes me when “pro-life” people are also pro-death penalty. I don’t get it. I think the pope sticks with it – anti-abortion and anti-death penalty.

I had a friend that was murdered when I was in college, and we were not that close. I don’t know whether her killer got the death penalty. Honestly, I would prefer for him to rot in jail than get the death penalty. With our messed-up jail system, though, he’s probably be let out sometime in the future. *sigh*
